nOOb
November 4, 2009
I came across this word through one of my fraands (and now co-worker) on Twitter. I was a bit perplexed at what that meant. “nOOb”, he explained, was a a “newbie”. A new bee – n O O b. Interesting choice of alphabets to depict the full word.
So here I am. a nOOb. To blogging. I admit to being bitten. WordPress wins. I lose. I succumb to the seduction of writing about my thoughts in front of millions of people. Anyone can read it. Anyone can comment on my personal thoughts. A bit unnerving – but definitely engaging. Blogging – here I come. My first post on my first ever blog. Strangely nice!
A quick introduction – As this is my personal blog, I will write about things that I think about, dream about, aspire to be, push others to be, thoughts that fleet by before I can catch them, comments that I discuss with the voicetap team and my family from time to time. The objective of the blog is not so much to have more people know me better (not sure how much thats worth), but more so to try and help and goad others to… as the wise monkey in Lion King 3 says - ‘look beyond the obvious’. Hakuna Matata. PS: I know that phrase thanks to my 2 year old son, Shaurya – who watches ONLY this movie day in and day out.
So – with my introduction done and over with, I will commence writing (from tomorrow) with the one question that I have always had for the ‘big-wigs’, and have been asking everyone from the time Dewang Mehta was at the helm of NASSCOM till today.
Why is it that there are no global companies that come out of India?
If you have any thoughts on this – put them up. My thoughts on this – tomorrow. Watch this space.
Cheers,
M
